General Information
The object of this page is to give general information about Endangered Species in the form of statistics:
1) Currently there are 706 plants and 480 animal species listed as Endangered. In addition, 33 plant and 34 animal species are proposed for listing, while 82 species of plants and 72 species of animals are candidates for listing.
2) The number of species that have recovery plans under development is 885.
3) The number of take permits that have been issued for habitat conservation plans is 225.
